BRICKZ scans 128 subnet pools for the best rate
Every Bittensor subnet has a built-in AMM pool (part of the dTAO protocol). Each pool has different liquidity and pricing. BRICKZ checks all 128 in real-time and tells you which pool gives you the best rate with the lowest slippage.
Where does the fee come from?
The 0.5% BRICKZ fee is taken from the TAO amount before the swap executes. If you swap 100 TAO, 0.5 TAO goes to the BRICKZ fee wallet and 99.5 TAO goes into the pool. You can see this fee in the transaction BEFORE you approve it in your wallet. If you don't want to pay it, don't sign.

You approve the transaction in YOUR wallet
Your wallet extension pops up and shows you exactly what will happen: how much TAO you're sending, which smart contract it's going to, and the fee. You click approve. If you don't approve, nothing happens. BRICKZ cannot execute any transaction without your explicit approval.

The smart contract executes the swap on-chain
Your TAO goes directly from YOUR wallet to the Bittensor protocol's built-in subnet pool. It does NOT pass through BRICKZ. The pool is autonomous code on the Bittensor blockchain — nobody owns it, nobody controls it. It swaps your TAO according to its AMM formula and sends you back tokens.
Who is on the other side of the trade?
The pool itself. When other people stake TAO into that subnet, TAO goes into the pool. When you unstake, TAO comes out of the pool. The pool always has reserves on both sides. No individual person needs to "match" your trade — the pool does it automatically via constant product formula (x × y = k).

If you want to stay in TAO — you're done at step 5. If you want USDT, BTC, or cash in your bank, bridge your TAO from Bittensor to Ethereum using bridge.bittensor.com (official) or tao.bot bridge. This takes ~5 minutes. Bridge fee ~0.3% and Bittensor's protocol charges ~0.05%.
Where does the USDT come from?
NOT from BRICKZ. NOT from Bittensor. The USDT exists on Ethereum's DEX ecosystem — Uniswap, Curve, Sushiswap — where billions of dollars in USDT are deposited by traders worldwide. After bridging, your wTAO on Ethereum can be swapped for USDT through these existing pools. Some random trader on Uniswap deposited USDT wanting to buy TAO — your sell matches their buy. Uniswap charges 0.3% for this.

You send USDT to your Wise USD account. Wise converts USD to your local currency at the mid-market rate — 0.41% fee. Money arrives in your bank within 1-2 business days.

Smart contract bugs. Despite audits, no code is guaranteed bug-free. Only deposit what you can afford to lose.
Slippage on large trades. AMM pools have finite liquidity. Large swaps move the price. Check price impact before confirming.

BRICKZ is non-custodial. We do not hold your funds at any point. All transactions execute through on-chain smart contracts that we cannot control, reverse, or modify.
We cannot help with:
• Funds sent to the wrong wallet address
• Phishing scams or compromised wallets
• Lost seed phrases or private keys
• Transactions confirmed on-chain (they are irreversible)
It is your responsibility to triple-check wallet addresses before sending funds. Always verify you are on the correct website (brickz.exchange). We will never ask for your seed phrase or private key.
⚠ STRONGLY RECOMMENDED: Before transferring any significant amount of TAO (Bittensor's native cryptocurrency), we strongly advise sending a small test transaction of 0.01 TAO from your coldkey wallet (your Bittensor wallet) to your MetaMask (Ethereum-compatible browser wallet) address first. If the test funds arrive successfully, you have confirmed the correct wallet address and network configuration. It is far safer to risk a negligible amount of TAO (~$3) to verify your setup than to risk losing a larger sum due to an incorrect address, wrong network, or misconfigured wallet. BRICKZ cannot recover funds sent to incorrect addresses under any circumstances.
